We are currently organizing, fundraising and are on the verge of getting a space. We appreciate bicycles for all the things they symbolize: liberation, freedom, community, independence, transportation to a new life, a sustainable future and an equitable future. The Bike Shop offers bike repair services and is conveniently located by the. We aim to provide an inclusive and accessible space that is aware of these oppressions and actively works to deal with them accordingly. We believe a better campus, a better community, a better experience happens. We also have many used bicycles for sale, starting at 40 for lower-end. We have a large selection of used and new parts. LBK already runs a young Muslim womens workshop, and a WaG (women and gender-variant) night teaching bike maintenance. We have the tools (including specialty bicycle tools) needed to repair and maintain your bicycle, and mechanics to teach you how to do it. We are committed to being anti-racist, anti-sexist, class-conscious, and queer-and gender-inclusive, and believe that all oppressions are interrelated and any oppression is ultimately hurtful to all. Bike Edmonton operates two fully-equipped, volunteer-run, community bike workshops. We believe that by providing a space staffed by experienced volunteers and educating community members on the art of bicycle maintenance, we are teaching people to believe in themselves and their community, thus empowering them to build on the connections they make in the shop and in the streets, riding their bikes.
